Successful Season The trumpet trio, consisting of Tim Wellman, Dan Ekeler, and Dan Guthrie, entertained at many ban- quets, programs, and concerts. They were the backbone of our trumpet section this past year and took an advanced selection to contest. The stage band attended District Band Contest and also played at Band Banquet. First row: Sharon Hendricksen, Carolyn Krupicka, Sherry Krejci, Lanelle Due, and Lori Becker. Second row: Alan Michl, Sherry Taylor, Denise Due, Mary Jane Undersood, and Kathy Kuska. Third row: Dan Guthrie, Dan Ekeler, Tim Wellman, Kurt Oates, Wayne Larsen. Fifth row: Chuck Hansen. Chip Adamson, Mike Pracheil, Shelly Fitzgerald, Margie Manning, and Shela Thomsen. Receiving a superior rating for their efforts at District Contest was the french horn quartet, con- sisting of Sherry Taylor, Mary Jane Underwood, Denise Due, and Lanelle Due. Lanelle also received a superior for her solo performance. 21

Attended throughout the year were; the Shrine Parade and Game, Harvest of Harmony, Pershing Marching Contest, Conference Band Clinic and District Band Contest, and the band members also found time to put together a number of concerts for the com- munity. The majorette squad, consisting of Kaye Volkmer, Margie Manning, Sherry Taylor, Clara Manning, was led by drum major, Mary Jane Underwood.
