Senior Class Play- Accidental Hero” A high school class, which is threatened by loss of extra-curricular frills, sets out to show its value by a bang-up presentation of a play. The young and perhaps too serious coach does strange things with the casting-albeit for noble reasons. The self-styled glamor girl finds herself cast as a scrubwoman. Tomboy Peggy is given the part of the grandmother, and John, who is interested only in chicken houses, is cast as the hero. Even Kitty, who is the heroine in the play, is unhappy. In the play, she is required to kiss the hero, and her father is running for the school board on a nonsmooching platform. Opening night produces a resounding success in which the sound-effects man, the prompter, and the school principal play leading roles. After the curtain falls, John's chick- en house is proclaimed a success, and the school keeps its frills. Homecoming Queen Cheryl Wellman and Homecoming King Roger Drucker Homecoming Homecoming activities this year took place on October 2, 1964. The Exeter Eagles met the Bruning Bears in an exciting battle that ended with Exeter on top, 14 to 7. King Roger and Queen Cheryl were crowned during the half-time Homecoming ceremonies. A dance was held after the game in the high school gym. 13
