Besides his administrative duties. Superintendent William A. Rachow teaches Algebra I. He has proven to be a com- petent administrator during his two years at Exeter. This past year, a bond issue passed making construction of a new elementary school building possible. Mr. Rachow holds a B.A. degree from Peru State College and a Masters Degree from the University of Nebraska. Students: You can be proud of this record of the years events. You have produced it through your participation in your class and school activities. Many cherished memories are between the covers of this volume. Keep it and hold dear what you will always be a part. Students Gain High School Principal Larsen, a busy teacher and administra- tor of Exeter High School, has maintained a busy schedule this last year. In addition to duties as high school principal, he taught business law, bookkeeping and economics. He was the Student Council sponsor.Mr. Larsen holds a B.A. from Dana and has done graduate work at the University of Nebraska. The year has had a few changes over last year with an addition of courses and teachers. The demanding need of society is a challenge that the board, administra- tion and faculty have been trying to meet by adding to the curriculum. It has been a joy working with the faculty and students dur- ing the past year. School is serious busi- ness and the more effort you put into obtain- ing the most out of an education the more you will receive in return. The first thing you are in school for is the subjects you take. If extra-curricular activities inter- feres with your subjects a wise person will cut down on them and put his efforts into the academic courses which he takes. 6

This past year Mr. Clarence Slosson has taught the seventh and eighth grades general science courses and physics to the Juniors and Seniors. Besides maintaining this busy schedule he helped sponsor the Junior-Senior Banquet. Grade school principal, Mrs. Mildred Hassell, teaches 8th grade English, 8th grade Social Studies and 7th and 8th B math in addition to her other duties. She has a B. S. degree from Wesleyan University. Knowledge Through Mr. George Harrison, the Vocational Agriculture instruc- tor for grades 9, 10, and 12, sponsors the F. F. A., an active organization in high school. He holds a B. A. de- gree from the University of Nebraska. Miss Lucia Ober has taught this past year the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th home economics. She is also the F. H. A. and freshman class sponsor. Miss Ober holds a B. S. degree from the University of Nebraska.
