Many underclassmen, parents, and friends were present to see us off. The first stop on our trip was at Wilber where we met another bus with McCool and Monroe seniors aboard. Our next stop was at Maryville, Missouri, about 1:15 for refresh- ments. During the next few hours most of us tried to get some sleep but there were a few heartless souls who tried to keep us awake. 5:30 a.m. found us in some unknown town where we all had a snack to tide us over until breakfast. This we had when we arrived in Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. We arrived at Brick Haven Lodge about 9:00 a.m. The cabins were all new with every- thing very modern. Friday morning we went boating and some of the seniors tried water skiing for the first time. At noon we went to the El Dorado Motor Hotel and Restaurant. This is where all our meal were furnished for us. Following supper we visited a curio shop ana then headed for the Ozark Opery. The show lasted for two hours which seemed like fifteen minutes. The Exeter seniors got a lot of attention from the Opery stars since we were sitting in the front row. Saturaday morning was spent visiting a large souvenir shop, Dogpatch, and taking a tour of Bagnell Dam. On the agenda for the afternoon was more boating and skiing. After supper we went dancing on a huge boat The Governor. Several other schools were also present at the dance. At midnight we had a weiner roast at the resort in honor of the three schools that were staying there. At 10:30 a.m. Sunday we left the Ozarks and headed toward Nebraska. At dinner time we stopped in Independence, Missouri for lunch. Our next stop was at Auburn, Nebraska where we all has soft ice cream and something to drink.
