student government. At that time a constitution was adopted which gave the students an opportunity to participate in the government of the school. The original constitution was revised in 1926 and again this year by a conmittee appointed for that purpose. The new constitution was then adopted by the student body. The governing body of this student government is the Student Council. This is one of the finest organizations in our High School. The Student Council is composed of eight mem- bers, two of which are elected from each class. The class from which the president is elected, selects another member. The duties of this council vary. They have charge of all convocations and do every thing possible to promote the inter- ests of the school. The council also inflicts punishment for offenses by deducting merit points according to a penalty schedule in the constitution.
