DOROTHY POTEAT Head Counselor Junior Counselor Another busy part of the Administration Building was the counselors' offices. The four people on Excelsior's counseling staff found them- selves engaged in making program changes, schedul- ing and giving tests, filing scholarship applications, and performing all the other responsibilities needed to see roughly two thousand stu- dents through four years of high school with a minimum of confusion and a maximum of learning. Yet these busy people somehow still found time to give individual guid- dance to students and to help them with their plans for the future. Excelsior stu- dents greatly appreciated the interest and help of these dedicated individuals. E -J - A M. ., -kwfazj qw. 1,1 J in-H ,ua 4l..gL.A

JAMES MILNER Attendance Supervisor Guidance hom the Adminirtza tire 5' aff When one entered the administration offices this past year, he became aware that these offices were the center for all campus functions. Girls often met in the Girls' Vice Principal's Office to make decorations for a dance, to discuss dress regulations, or just to have a heart to heart talk with Mrs. Bryan about their problems. Boys visited Mr. Robinson for advice on matters concerning the various clubs in which boys participated, for answers to questions concerning student body activities and, of course, for disciplinary measures. Mr. Kraushaar kept things running smoothly in the Activities Office, the home base for all student body business. He helped students plan and organize elections, money raising projects, publicity, and all other school activities. It was the job of those in the Attendance Office to keep records of stu- dents' attendance to see to it that students attended school regularly and were absent only for legal reasons. Mr. Milner, as Attendance Super- visor, also attended meetings and took care of matters concerning the attendance and general welfare of the student body. Excelsior students soon learned that they could get sound guidance and understanding help from this fine administrative staff.
