How do you like America, Lena? asked her friends upon her arrival. She commented that the people were friendly but California was very hot. In Norwalk Lena had the privilege of enjoying American life with her newly adopted family, the Knipples. As a Senior here, Lena's classes in- cluded great books, Latin, Spanish, modern dance, and American problems. While at Excelsior, she devoted much of her time participating in many clubs, such as International Relations Club, Altairs, Latin Club, and Rally Committee. Lena served as a Senate representative. When Lena returns to Sweden she plans to attend two more years of gymnasium, the educational program in Sweden, where she will continue studying languages.
