With his kind advice Mr. Joyce has put many a Junior on the right road to success. Being very active around campus he has worked with Leadership as well as Student Coun- cil. He had also the enormous job of head of the Command Pilots. His main duties as counselor were to help with registration and changing of classes. Mr. Mau ri ce Joyce SOME LISTENED Mr. Earl Leake, Senior Counse- lor, ancl English Department Head, has guided Seniors through many di- verse difficulties. His duties were to advise and talk over the Seniors' problems re- lating to scholarship programs, vo- cational choices, and many personal matters. His devotion to young people and his understanding of their needs, has made him a friend to all who knew him. Mr. Earl Leake ,ll Former Spanish teacher and Span- ish club advisor oF Bellflower and Excelsior High School, has accept- ed the responsibilities of Freshman counselor at Excelsior. As counse- lor she handled the enrollment of new students, preparing program cha nges, she attends all district county meetings concerning counsel- ing matters.
