xg W. . in d i , Nga-L Excelsior---the school that we love: with the build- ings that have grown old so gracefully, with its lawn that stays green all year, and with the victory bell in the quad around which much of the student life cen- ters. But, is this scenic beauty what makes us loyal to our school? No, but it is the feeling of warmth and friendliness that one feels in our school, that makes this place beautiful to us. On Campus, we have the Flight Deck, which is a fairly new building. The students look at it, with a feeling of pleasure, not iust because it is a pretty building, but rather, because it is a place where they can meet their friends and have lunch with them, the same goes for our Cafeteria. The Boy's gym holds a special sentimental feeling with the boys. It is the place where many have met op- ponents in sports events, and where many have sat as spectators. The Girl's gym holds the same attraction for the girls. It has been the scene of many of the school dances and play-days. The Victory Bell is one of great attachment for the students of Excelsior. It is proudly rung, when our school is the victor in an athletic contest, but, oh, so, quiet, when we have met defeat. The Auditorium is where all our assemblies and musical events take place. It is the setting for the Christmas play, for the Spring Swing, and other appearances that our school band and choir make. Truly, this is the beauty of Excelsior High School. 3
