- 1 n.-4, BRYAN HAMBY Q 1 The Student Body Officers are elected to hold a certain office for one semester. This is done by a special election. This year's first semester cabinet was led by Bryon Homby, President. Working in unison with Bryon were the other officers. This outstanding group met the problems facing the school with enthusiasm. Where o solution was impossible they worked out some alternative. The one main effort this year was to creote more school spirit. After much work the Student n- ? JL C ' i F' PEGGY TANAKA Q I 4 iff ABE ALVES group felt the spirit had increased. Another task they completed well was the campus clean-up plan which proved very successful, more so than last year. The financial status of the school also improved throughout the year. Continuing the work started by the first semester cabinet, the second group also proved their ability. Peggy Tanaka 1 5 Bob McCIung The popularly elected student body officers for the second semester proved their ability to maintain the high standard set forth by the first semester officers and assumed the role of leading the student government of Excelsior. Led by President Dave Murphey, the leader- ship class solved such problems as campus cleanup, arranging for a public address system for the Flight Deck, a code of ethics, and im- provement of the school spirit at the various spring athletic events. Providing for good rallies and assemblies was the duty of Peggy Tanaka, director of activities. Mary Ann Martin took over the iob of outside reporting as director of publicity, while Abe Alves re- mained in the office of treasurer.
