Mr Richardson Hastings Director of Gund ance and Curriculum can be likened to the advising general in a war He resumed his duties advising students in their course of study and helped compile the courses accord mg to the needs of the students Mr Hastings compiled the standard tests and took different surveys to help establish curriculum in the school Upon completion of the Artesia High School he will assume his duties there as Principal Excelsior s battles would be difficult to win without him Mr Henry Korsmeir Assistant Superintendent and Business Manager Mr Richard James could be compared to an A W O L sergeant He was in charge of the attendance records transfers and work permits concerning Caesar s Excelsior Warriors Mr. James was the person responsible for assigning detention commonly known to the warriors as the Rententio. Along with his assistants he did a very fine job of keeping track of those absent and like an understanding general tried to help them solve their problems concerning attend- ance.
