There are many members of the faculty and administra- tive staff who devote their time and efforts to the students at Excelsior. It is the Annual staff's pleasure each year to dedicate the annual to one deserving person. Teaching is really a fine way to help students in all phases of their lives and sometimes a lot of that help is obtained from sources other than the class room. Each faculty member does his or her part in a different way and through various means. The many activities in which Excelsior students take part require able and wise leaders to guide the group to the right choices in life. In choosing the dedicatee for this year's Annual, the staff believes it has chosen a man who has many fine characteristics and whose assistance fits into all the definitions of service, although not always getting the praise he well deserved. He helped students in whatever ways they needed help. He knew his sub- iects and taught them well, also serving as a very able advisor to one of the most important and worthwhile organizations in the school. It was through his efforts that that organization became an outstanding one tot- which it was an honor to belong. For these reasons the Annual staff wishes to dedicate the 1953 El Aviador to Mr. Thomas J. Everly, English teacher Latin teacher, and C.S.F. Advisor.
