Mr. Richardson Hastings Director of Guidance and Curriculum an-- Ain YE Miss Elizabeth Watkins Counselor kind and understanding Excelsior this year welcomed back one of its former teachers, Mr. Richardson Hastings, who filled the position of Director of Guidance and Curriculum. Mr. Hastings attacked his many problems and solved the snarls that come with the planning oi the schedule of classes and curriculum. a friend in need Newly appointed to the position of Boys' Vice Principal this year Was Coach Robert Ashton, who has Won the respect and admiration of boys and girls alike for his sincere interest in the happiness of the students. Nrr. Robert Ashton Boys' Vice-principal Miss Elizabeth W' atkins helped the Students ot Excelsior plan their courses with Wise advice. Mr. Richard Gahr Principal Nd Wx he leads the way Mr. Richard Gahr this year has again been very successful in giving the students of Excelsior High School his co-operative guidance in helping them find their way into the Unknown Students entering Excelsior for the first time, faced with the difficulties of adjusting themselves to their new surroundings were aided by his kind guidance. Our principal was always on hand whenever and wherever needed. He has many responsibilities, one of which was seeing that the emergency schedule used by the Excelsior and Bellflower Schools functioned smoothly and with efficiency. Miss Lucille Tombs, Girls' Vice-principal C1 friendly hand This gracious lady directed the girls in their social functions, and was always ready to help them with their personal problems. Under her capable guidance the Girls' League has had many splendid activities. The daily bulletin which has been a new responsibility of Miss Tombs this year, has been excellently supervised. The other numerous activities under her direction have all profited because of her efforts. Through her dignity and charm, Miss Lucile Tombs has made lasting friends of YZ! mr. alonzo valentine Mr. Uncle Val Valentine and his friendly ear has guided and advised the lower classmen throughout the school year. Mr. Valentine has served in the capacity of assistant counselor for two years now, and has won many friends through his quick wit and sense of humor. mr. henry korsmeir The tremendous responsibility of handling the finances of the Excelsior School District has been shouldered by Mr. Henry Korsrneir. This task was great- ly increased with the addition of the Bellflower School. Mr. Korsmeir, as al- ways, efficiently carried this extra bur- den With no difficulties. mr. richard iames Handling the tremendous job of keeping up with all of the Excelsior students this year was Mr. Richard Iames, attendance director. Through his constant alertness and co-operation with the school staff, the rising needs of a growing school for a better attendance system were capably met.
