Class History On September 1, 1947, twelve little bright-eyed children walked over the threshold of the first grade room. The names of these pupils were: Sharon Crooks, Barbara Dagel, Anita Flint, Dorothy Korthals, Karmen McFarland, Judith Sheldon, Glenn Anderson, Gary Clark, Otis Elkin, Melvin Garloff, Henry Heerde, and Norman Nattress. Our teacher was Miss Cleveland. At the beginning of our second grade year we discovered a vacant seat, that of Barbara Dagel, During the year we were joined by Sharon Christopherson and Eddie Lee. Our teacher was again Miss Cleveland. Our third grade teacher was Mrs. Cooper, but from October to March Mrs. Robey taught in her place. During the year we lost Judy Sheldon to Spirit Lake and gained David Draper and Roger Wilson. The fourth grade year was much the same as the third, except we lost Dorothy Korthals to Lakefield and had a new teacher, Mrs. Meyer. Upon entering the fifth grade we found that Melvin Garloff had left us, and Gary Thomas joined us. Our teacher was Mrs. Price. The sixth grade found us with the same members except Gary Thomas moved and Anita Mansfield and Judy Johnson joined us to make the class an even ten. Mrs. Price was our teacher. Junior High was a new experience to us. Our teachers during our seventh grade year were: Mr. Clausen, Mr. Peterson, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield. During the year Lorna Harms joined us. New teachers our Freshman year were: Mr. and Mrs. Martin, Mr. Matteson, Miss Aeilts, and Mrs. Winburn. We found one vacant seat our Sophomore year, that of Roger Wilson, who moved to Lake Park. Our teachers were the same as our Freshman year.
