Looking at the Past . As the heat of August and Septem- ber slowly cooled into the autumn of '80, Everitt students stayed on the move as the football season flew past. As the cold winds of winter swept across our campus, the sil- louette of an eagle passed over and the year changed from 1980 to 1981. The new Eagles began making Everitt their home and the old Eagles didn't have long to go. 140 ix 1 XXX N As predictable as the morning an- nouncements, spring came to Ever- itt in March of '81. With the help of our excellent teachers, we learned to walk, to run, and finally, to soar like an eagle.

And Looking at the Future The bald eagle had to soar through turbulant air as it passed over our nation. The Iranian Iraqi War started and the economy did not improve. But, the eagle also flew for freedom and brought 150,000 Cuban refugees to our country. This past year, President Carter signed the pay raise and Presi- dent Nixon took office in January. In our school, we had a salad bar added to the lunchroom and it was a success. Our band was terrific as always and Mr. Brownlee was welcomed as the new di- rector. And gradually, the year passed on.
