Miracles occurred on the night of prom, May 27, 1976, when E. P. students exchanged their faded jeans and grubby T-shirts for tuxedos and flowers, ruffles and lace. A normal E. P. guy became suave, debonair and sophisticated, while an ordinary E. P. girl became radiant, enchanting and chic. They arrived at the Sabre Room and began an evening of dining, laugh- ter, and dancing to the music of the Slink Rand Band and the Dave Romain orchestra. This year the senior class nominated the following six seniors for Prom King: jim Lusk, jim Bartolotta, Tony Clementi, Steve Par- ker, Ralph Pranckus, and Mike Toom- ey. Finally, after several anxious hours of nail-biting, the King was crowned -- Tony Clementil But, at the stroke of midnight, our extraordinary students became ordinary once more, and the hard work the juniors put in at the concessions stands to help pay the way, the wilted flowers, wrinkled dresses and tuxedos, and tired, step- ped-on feet faded into a happy memory. PROM 13

OPERATIQ MiA fSi'iH,' SUCCEED AS SPRI G PLAY On May 8-10, 1976, E.P. 's drama dept. presented its special version of MiAiiS'l'l-I, the well-known film and t. V. comedy. Directed and adapted by Ms. Debbie Herrick, the play portrays life in and around a busy army hospital in South Korea. One scene added was called The Beauty Contest , featuring Herb Sommer as Corp. Klinger. Another was the resurrection of Walt, played by Bill Lesecki. Walt can't be talked out of suicide, so tl1e doctors and nurses give him a knock-out pill and a good scare as he awakes in his coffin. A scene that the entire cast didn't enjoy was that of Ho-jon, played by Dave Moy, hiding a dead cat in one of the trunks. The cat was quite real, donated by the science dept. , and quite ripe! The fa- tigues worn by mggp of the cast were also authentic, borrowed from an Army surplus store.
