And as we move along our way, The thoughts of her shall always last. The quality of life she lived Is felt so deep within our hearts. She brought such cheer into our lives, But from this world she did depart. The smiles she brought shall linger on And place a tear upon our cheek, But as we mourn, we dare not hide From future times we may seek. The life she lived should serve a guide By which to base our future goals. Lord, may she know eternal life, And find peace within her soul. This poem was written by Betty Marvin a fellow classmate for Louise, who died on December 3rd, 1977. LOUISE LYNN BICK Freshman- Reserve Volleyball Homecoming Attendant G.A.A. When he came to the High School in 1969, he already had the experience of five years classroom teaching in English and Psychology. In addition to this, he was also Principal of Kindergarten-twelfth in the Patrick Henry local School District. During Mr. Hales' training years, he attended Defiance College and Bowling Green State University where he majored in English, Social Studies, Physical Education, Guidance, and Counseling, and School Administration collectively. Among Mr. Hales' favorite pastimes are fishing, reading, hiking, and bicycling with his family. In keeping with his deeply religious convictions, he speaks to group from time to time as a lay minister. He has port all his vast knowledge and care into his job of making every graduate of Evergreen a better and more scholastically enriched person. Evergreen students are indebted to his efforts to make the Evergreen School District one of the best in Northwestern Ohio. School Board Dennis L. They were Bernhard Kassen, Paula Ovaska, Jens Kristenson, Brigitta Schupbach. Bernhard stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Ferris and family. In school he played football and he was selected as King for the 1977 Homecoming. Paula resided with Mr. and Mrs. Pennington and their family. She was involved in the Language Club, the Viking Legend staff, bowling, and she was the girls basketball manager. Jens stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Frantz and family until January, when he relocated in Delta. Brigitta's home was with Mr. and Mrs. Flack. In school she participated in Language Club and she was on the Valhalla staff. Evergreen High School enjoyed all four students, and will miss them next year. It was frustrating in that the High School team was unable to conquer even one victory. This was due mainly to the fact that Senior Letterman and Team Co-Captain Mark Miller was unable to participate most of the year because of a pulled stomach muscle. His leadership and running ability alone would have been enough to make the team more respectable. On the brighter side of things a junior high program was implemented which helps make things look bright for the future. With the help of more students becoming involved in Cross Country, there is no place for the program to go but up. DANCE CONCERT 1 'Crackerty Jacks'1 Pam and Miss Hathaway 1 'Love Is Blue'' ' 'April In Portugal'' Below: Evergreen In celebration of its tenth anniversary the Dance Concert of the Decade was held March 17 and 18, under the direction of Miss Patricia Hathaway. For eight of the ten years that the G.A.A. has sponsored a dance concert, Miss Hathaway has worked long and hard as our director. She has put in endless hours of effort and worry and it has shown in the girls' performances. Because we missed so many days of school the girls had only three weeks to prepare. But through long hours of hard work and the leadership of Miss Hathaway, the girls put on a fine performance both evenings. The dance concert is a special event at Evergreen, not only for the members of the G.A.A. but for everyone. The G.A.A. wishes to extend a sincere thanks to all those who helped make the dance concert a success each year. We would also like to thank Cheryl Tiede and Cathi Huskins who were practice girls. Also as a special part of the observance of the 10th anniversary the alumni returned and performed a dance. 113 DANCE CONCERT Brian's Song Top Hats'' ' 'Reggie's Theme '' Sounds of Silence'' ' 'Rockford Files'1 ' 'Nicholas and Alexandra'' 1 'Love Potion 9'' 1 'Rocky'' ' 'Oh Pretty Woman'' OF THE DECADE Let's Go ' 'The Ten Commandments'' ' 'The Way We Were'' ' 'Peter Gunn'' ' 'Oh Pretty Woman'' Below: ' 'That's Entertainment ' Above: MC Mr. Gary Left: Amy Kreua and Hathaway 5 J R W O R K DAY The Juniors put in a long, hard workday to decorate the gymnasium for this year's prom. High School Students in their Sophomore year are offered a choice of whether to follow a career at Four County or to continue at Evergreen. To help students with this decision, they are given a tour of the facilities so they may see classes in action, pertaining to the area of their interest. Four County offers students the opportunity to enter a field of their choice with some necessary preparation to enter this field. These Four County students will receive a certificate from the State Department which verifies that they have had 2 years experience and will allow them to begin their work at a higher rate of pay based on this experience in some cases. Four County also has a number of Vocational Clubs which offer students the chance to participate in competition with other Vocational Students on a State and National Level.
