They performed in the halftime program along with many other high school bands. During football season practices were held every Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. The newly formed flag corp, consisting of six members, executed drills with the band and added specialties of their own. This year's Journalism II class put forth great effort in assembling the 1977 Valhalla. The yearbook staff would like to extend their thanks to Carl Habrick, photographer, (BOTTOM RIGHT) Sid Rodeheffer, yearbook representative, (BOTTOM LEFT) and Mr. Tittle, advisor, (UPPER LEFT). Journalism II is a class which is offered on a one- semester basis and is mainly to facilitate the production of the yearbook. The class involves writing, photography, picture layout and all of the necessary planning to prepare information to be sent to a printing company. JOURNALISM I First period Journalism. 1ST ROW- Lenny Koman, Rebecca Garlick, Linda Reckner, Chris Willee, Janice Borer, Eddie Zientek, Mike Holland, 2ND ROW- Pam Barlow, Dave Turk, Mark Mizer, Barb Laux, Kay Miller, Peggy Mosiniak, Cindy Hester, Julie Link, Suzi Mika. 3RD ROW- Peggy Scott, Kathy Bourn, Ann Zientara, June Showman, Mary Jo Mosiniak, Mary McGhee, Kathy Malburg, Barb Barba. The first hour journalism class, under the supervision of Mrs. Stockwell, put out many fine papers. This class worked well together and their efforts were shown with the coming out of the paper every other week. This year they had different editors for each semester. First semester editors were Kay Miller and Debbie Smith. Second semester editors were Suzi Mike and Dave Turk. All four of these editors learned how to be reponsible for getting the Viking Legend out on time. They all did a terrific job. At this rate, we will never get this paper out on time. It'll ruin our record. JOURNALISM 150 Third Hour Journalism, LEFT TO RIGHT: ROW 1-Joe Blystone, Jenny Ray, Barb Kovar, Amy Vaculik, Dave Davis, Mary Jo Mosiniak, Mike Ruple, ROW 2-Chris Willee, Linda Hassen, Berny Mossing, Becky Pinkleman, Lisa Dowling, Pam Pinkleman, ROW 3-Elodia Martinez, Colleen Dowling, Becky Schmidlin, Marcie Lindsay, Advisor Mrs. Stockwell, Connie Miller, Jeff Reis, ROW 4-Randy Rinehart, Bev Smith, Margie Hallett, Mark Mossing, and Steve Bates. Shown at the left is Mrs. Stockwell our advisor. She is a super lady who cares about her students and the distribution of the school paper. Mrs. Stockwell checks all articles which are put in the Viking Legend. The students write editorials for the paper every other week and work hard to get it out on time. The Journalism I classes give students the opportunity to learn how a paper is set up, run off and distributed. The editors for third hour Journalism Class were Barb Kovar and Dave Turk. 4-Co.
