W awk, A better night cou1dn't have been chosen for our Homecoming, The weather was the best it had been all season and the procession of the floats and attendants made it even more beautiful. The Seniors chose Sounds of Silence for their float theme. The float placed second in the competition. SENIOR CLASS FLOAT , 1971-72 HOMECOMING Riding on the Junior float were at- tendants Becky Farley and Sharon Keller. The Juniors theme was Up, Up and Away With a Viking Victory. They won first place with their beautiful float. JUNIOR CLASS FLOAT ' QUEEN AND ESCORT HOMECOMING DANCE Barbra Boger and Greg Herrick A dance was held in the gym after the football game. The dance was set to the theme of Windmi11s of Your Mind. Music was provided by The Family Way. The attendants were escorted in by boys they chose from their class. The evening soon came to a close but was well remembered by those who attended. 1971-'72 HOMECOMING COURT AND ESCORTS vhs i SENIOR ATTENDANTS 1.57 Pam Gillen, Barb Boger, Debbie Fetterman QUEEN HOMECOMING COURT Last year's Queen, Maria Willeman, presented the new Queen, Barb Boger, with a dozen roses N I V r The floats had to be built around the title of a song. There comes one representative from each class. The queen is chosen from one of these four by majority vote of the students. Each vote costs a penny. This year's queen chosen was Lynn Mosiniak. ' Her escort is Gary Hinkle. She was presented with a dozen long stemmed red roses by last year's queen, Sue Damman. The crowning was followed by a special dance for the queen and her court. This past football season has been one of many suprises for this year, Our hero accented pigskin carriers attained the best won-loss record E,H,S, has accomplished thus far at 3 wins and 6 losses. This year's Evergreen Varsity Basketball team knew the pitfalls of defeat, and finally, a touch of glory in compiling a 3-16 record. The team faltered at first, but came back in the second half of the season to defeat Swanton, who had beaten them in their first game, This boosted Evergreen's record against Swanton to 4-7 in this most intense rivalry between the two schools, With a successful Reserve team moving up, plus a few lettermen, next year's team should be something to see. The 1971-72 Varsity Base- ball team became the Cinderella dream of the school year as they com- piled a 14-9 won-loss record. The team was led to each of their 14 wins by their beloved leader and coach, Mr. Steck, Some of the big wins this year were over highly regarded teams, such as Adrian and Swanton The Reserve baseball team followed in the footsteps of the Varsity team as they dominated their opponents and com- piled a record which proved to the school that they are capable of win- ning and it is hoped next year that they will be the team which can't be beaten. n Track FRONT ROW: R. The Library Staff is a group of kids who voluntarily give up their study halls to help Miss Bryon with various library jobs. Their duties include checking books in and out, arranging shelves, taking care of new books that come in, stamping them, covering them etc. Also this time can be used for a study period. The students who are involved in this program learn a lot about library techniques and some of the problems that go on with running a school library. A11 in all it's a worthwhile experience.
