Leadership Wifh A Smile Mr. Charles Mowrey graduated from Lyons High School. He then went to Defiance College on a basketball scholarship. At Defiance he received his Bachelor of Education Degree and was captain of Defiance's basketball team both his junior and senior year. Mr. Mowrey is qualified to teach history, speech, driver education and physical education. Before coming to Metamora High School Mr. Mowrey was the coach at Gibsonburg, Ohio and then went to Chesterfield. At Chester- field High School he coached for 9 years and was principal for six. With the organizing of the Evergreen School District Mr. Mowrey came to Metamora. He is now working for his Masters Degree at Sienna Heights. His future plans are to remain in the Evergreen District. Mrs. £a 3ounfain 'Officex of M.H.S. Writing out permission slips, admittance slips, tardy slips, keeping track of the Meteor Staff money and the Mirror Staff money, the freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior funds, trying to contact a student who is wanted at home, and typing and filing are some of the tasks of Mrs. Thelma La- Fountain, who, with the help of Mrs. Charles Mowrey keeps the school record books in tip-top shape. 9

Mrs. Susan Hayes, teacher of French I and n and Freshmen English, earned her B.A. degree at Adrian College. Miss Ruth Nachtrieb teaches Journalism, Typing I and II, Shorthand I and II, and Book- keeping. She earned her B.S. at Bowling Green State Univer- sity and her M.A. at Ohio State University. She is also advisor of the Mirror. Mr. Lyle Condon earned his B.S. at Ohio State University and attended Bowling Green State University. He teaches Agriculture and is the head of the F.F.A. Mr. Julius Bitter earned his B.S. at Ohio State University and his Masters at Toledo University. He also attended Bowling Green State University and Case Institute of Technology. He teaches Science and Mathematics. Mr. J.R. Vogelsang teaches Problems of American Democracy, World History, Geography, American History, and Speech. He is the advisor of the SEERS, Chess Club, and the Freshmen Class. He received his B.E. at the University of Toledo. 8
