“6fie Base of Knowledge Mrs. Herbert Barnes is the study hall Moderator. Mr. William Bowman received his B.E. at the University of Toledo. He teaches sophomore, 11 and 12, and College English classes. He is the advisor of the Meteor and sopho- more class advisor. Mr. Richard Anderson earned his B.S. at the University of Iowa. He teaches Plane Geometry and Busi- ness Arithmetic. Mr. Kevin Kane re- ceived his B.S. at Defiance College. He teaches Physical Ed- ucation, History and is head coach for all sports. Mr. John C. Phillips teaches Music and Driver's Education. He obtained his B.S. at Shenandoah Con- servatory of Music. Mrs. Helen Phillips teaches Home Economics. She obtained her B.S. at Bowling Green State University and attended Bluffton College. She is also junior class advisor. 7

(jomorrow-Svergreen In the near future high school goers of Lyons, Fulton, and Metamora will attend Evergreen High School. Superintendent of Evergreen and a member of the Metamora community for many years is Mr. O. J. Pifer. Mr. Pifer graduated from Metamora High School in 1928. He received his B.A. degree from Defiance College in 1933. Mr. Pifer did his post- graduate work at Toledo University and in the year of 1941 earned his M.A. degree. Three years later Mr. Pifer became superintendent of Metamora High School, a position which he held for twenty years. In 1964 he became the executive head of the Lyons- Fulton-Metamora school district, later changed to Evergreen. Making the decisions for the future of Evergreen are the Evergreen Board Members: (from left) Patricia Simon, Clerk and Treasurer; Jack Taylor, Board Member, Walter Pfund, Board Member; Stanley Ottgen, President; Herbert Barnes, V. Mrs. Susan Hayes, teacher of French I and n and Freshmen English, earned her B.A. degree at Adrian College. Miss Ruth Nachtrieb teaches Journalism, Typing I and II, Shorthand I and II, and Book- keeping. She earned her B.S. at Bowling Green State Univer- sity and her M.A. at Ohio State University. She is also advisor of the Mirror. Mr. Lyle Condon earned his B.S. at Ohio State University and attended Bowling Green State University. He teaches Agriculture and is the head of the F.F.A. Mr. Julius Bitter earned his B.S. at Ohio State University and his Masters at Toledo University. He also attended Bowling Green State University and Case Institute of Technology. He teaches Science and Mathematics. Mr. J.R. Vogelsang teaches Problems of American Democracy, World History, Geography, American History, and Speech. He is the advisor of the SEERS, Chess Club, and the Freshmen Class. He received his B.E. at the University of Toledo. 8
