A. News The Metamora F.H.A. had a busy and productive year. To begin the year we initiated twenty-eight new members, raising our membership to seventy-eight. The Fulton County Fair was the first of the year's activities. Together with girls from all the county chap- ters, the girls from our chapter helped to decorate the fair booth. On Junior Fair Day Brace Gleckler, our F.H.A. King, represented us. In the fall our officers attended a training meeting in Wauseon. The girls were also very active in working on their degrees. The Chapter as a whole worked on the Award of Merit. Many of our freshmen girls re- ceived their Junior Homemaker Degrees. Other members received Chapter Homemaker Degrees. Eight girls applied for and worked on their State Homemaker Degrees. As our community project in January members collected money for the March of Dimes, and in February for the Heart Drive. April saw the new officers and the girls receiving their State Homemaker Degrees attend the state conven- tion in Columbus. The Mother-Daughter Banquet was held during F.H.A. week. Members' mothers and the Women's clubs were guests at the style show in May which ended our year's activities. State Line Oil Distributor of Gulf Products Wesley J. This degree is given on the basis of their participation in school activ- ities, and of their contributions to the community. For the second year in succession Metamora F.F.A. won the annual trap shooting contest held at Delta. Al- so for the second year in a row Metamora had the highest individual shooting score with Steve Mitchey hit- ting 19 for 25. Members of the team were Steve Mitchey, Robert Jessen, Mike Langenderfer, David Pinkel- man, and Jim Farley. The Parlimentary Procedure Contest was held at Fulton Gym and all the schools in the county participated. Metamora's representatives to the contest received a bronze rating. The 48 members of Vocational Agriculture in addition to selling magazine subscriptions had an acre of corn as a fund raising program. The members feel that the corn project was a rewarding experience and hope to enlarge this fund raising program. On October 8 the entire F.F.A. took a field trip to Hoytville Experiment Station. Here they were given a guided tour of the various agricultural experiments. Compliments of Dr. Paul I. Geer 73 F. F. A. Snaps Aluminum Storm Windows Doors, Sidings and Eave Troughing Robert J.
