New Faces Challenge Ola Records When The firsT day of Baseball Tur- nouTs came, There were abouT 35 anxious players in The small gym To Try ouT. AfTer a week of hard and Tiring pracfices, The Team was decided and cuT back To 2O players. There were high hopes from The players and The coaches for a shoT aT one of The four playoff posiTions. This year's Team had Ten reTurning leTTermen wiTh Danny MilTon as a four year reTurner. As The year progressed if was ob- vious The Team had ample TalenT. There was one school record Tied and Two second place records seT. Loren Colello Tied The school record wiTh his SevenTh double his lasT Time aT baT. Ben- ny VanBuskirk Tied for The second wiTh Two homeruns and Tommy Shires also finished second place wiTh Three Triples. Jeff Blakley led The Team wiTh a .365 BaTTing Average, while VanBuskirk followed wiTh a sTrong 349. The Teams firsT win came when our Wolverines beaT second place Ken- Tridge. KenTridge was undefeaTed unTll ThaT game when we beaT Them 3 To 2. Our second Time playing KenT Meridian Turned ouT To be a slug-fesT wiTh The Wolves collecTing T5 hiTs and winning T5 To 4. The nexT game was againsT Hazen, which was a Tough game wiTh us coming ouT on Top 7 To 6. Formal Tolo was a Tremendous success. ln puT- Ting on Tolo, The sophomore class had To plan weeks before The dance ThaT was on March 7Th. ln preparaTion, chaperones needed To be found, They had To come up wiTh someone To play The music for The dance, and of cour- se no formal dance would be compleTe wiThouT refreshmenTs. The dance was from eighT-Thirfy To eleven-ThirTy. This years music was puT on by KPLZ radio sTaTion. They played all The laTesT dance music, and everyone had a special Time. The Theme for The dance was, Can'T Help Falling ln Love WiTh You, by Corey HarT. Before The dance each couple had eaTen aT Their favoriTe resTauranTs. This Time The ladies leff The Tips and picked up The Tabs. Some favoriTe resTauranTs were Simon's and SaITy's on Alki. This years royaliy were elecTed The Tuesday before The dance. The freshmen prince was Brian Nesseley, 4 Jason Sawyers and Janelle Dyke have some refreshmenfs while h TT Th D IB hler and olo Reflecfs Elegance Us The sophomore prince Brad LiTTle, and The junior prince was Ryan Gulin. The nominees for The senior king were Dan Hook, Jerry Abraham, and Leo Porras. AT The dance everybody waiTed for The royally an- nouncemenT and soon found ouT ThaT Leo Porras would be chosen as our new Formal Tolo King.
