Hus Tie Sfands QUT Their enThusiasm was flowing high before The season sTarTed. During in- Tramurals you could see some of The TaIenT appearing in The players. When Turn ouTs sTarTed There were abouT 50 players going ouT for one of The Three Teams. A week before The preseason sTarTed, The Teams were decided and They were IefT wiTh 37 players, includ- ing five reTurning leTTermen. The varsiTy Team consisTed of seven seniors and Three juniors. Before The season sTarTed, Mr. Mulli- kin believed They had enough TalenT To make one of The four league playoff posiTions. When Their firsT game came around They IosT a Tough game To MT. Rainer. When The regular season finally bounced around KenTwood squeezed by wiTh a Two poinT win. The Teams' firsT win came aT home againsT a Tough playing Hazen Team. Our players sTayed righT wiTh Them The enfire game, and when The game was over, afTer playing one overTime peri- od, our wolverines came ouT on Top by Three poinTs. Senior Jeff Blakely, when asked how he felT abouT The season wiTh five games IefT, remarked. When we sTarTed The season we didn'T really know each oTher, buT as The season progressed, so did our friendships. He also said. This was whaT The Team was known for ThroughouT The NorTh PugeT Sound League and by Evergreen sTudenTs. WiTh Three ladys in The Top TwenTy in scoring, The Team had a ferocious of- fensive aTTack. Siephanie Johnson, The second high- esT scorer in The league, was a sTrong ThfeaT and one of The lady Wolves Team leaders. She summed up The season by saying, Even Though our season did noT come ouT aT The high- esT of Wolverine sTandards, we all felT we came TogeTher and played as a Team. lvlarylynn Vlialbaum, Third in The league in scoring, was The second half of The wolverines one-Two punch. Three oTher sTarTers finished off The well rounded Team. Darcy Cass a sTrong player added sTrong board play and a consisTanT offensive ouTpuT. The Two guards, Dayleen USPUDH Boehm and STacey Thorlacius, ran The run and shooT offense of The Team. BoTh Day- leen and Sfacey dished ouT a loT of assisTs and boTh were big offensive ThreaTs. The Team suffered a couple of sTiff losses in The season losing To Auburn, Lindberg QOTQ, and Hazen Q2OTj. These losses were said To be from defensive breakdown. The Team sfressed de- fense Throughouf pracTice and worked hard To improve Their so called absenT defense. As The season pro- gressed The Team did improve on boTh ends of The courT. Four sTarTers would leave This years Team, buf some sTrong juniors and sophomores would sTep in and fill spoTs respecfively. All in all The season showed greaT deTerminaTion, enfhusiasum, and besT of all wolverine pride. Good luck nexT year Team and keep up The hard work.
