LINCOLN ARC WELDING CONTEST | STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY Rev 0 John E 0 Kinchla Speaker for Student Day Assembly Father Kinchla proved to be one of the most interesting speakers that the school had for a long time 0 His story of Korea and the great struggle for survival and good government was without doubt an example of the sacrifices a nation must make to set up and maintain freedom„ Students and teachers enjoyed him very much 0 STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE JAMES E. BUTLER I was elected Student Government Day representative and in this capacity I was privileged to take my place in the House of Representatives in Boston on April 5, 1963. I gained much knowledge during the morning hours by visiting the various committee rooms. Discussions (pro and con) on Bills which would be presented to the Legislature at a later date proved to be very enlightening to me. I had lunch, as a guest of the Commonwealth, with the other student representatives. My afternoon activities included a long session in the Assembly room, listening to the legislators discussing several important Bills. I left for home at 4:00 P.M. satisfied that my day had been well-spent. I wish to thank all of my classmates for electing me their Student Representative. James E. Butler Mary Messina holds container while Supt. Canty selects card naming the King and Queen of the Prom The Class Prom was held on Friday Evening, April 26, 1963, at the school gymnasium. Excitement filled the air, and couples started arriving eafly. Each girl looked like a Princess and the boys looked dashing in their tuxedoes. The theme of the prom was ' April in Paris ' . Baskets of real flowers filled the gym, flowers and glittered stars hung from the rafters. Mr. Frackleton and his boys out did themselves in the decorating this year. When Mr. Canty selected Kathleen Gallagher and Michael D ' Avolio as King and Queen, everyone cheered as well as applauded. Kathy has always been a sweet, charming girl and is wel). like by everyone. Michael, an electrical student, is well known and liked also. He is going to attend Wentworth Institute this fall. The honor could not have gone to two nicer young people. « TRACK MR. GEORGE M.
