Offering invaluahle aid to students in their scholastic proh' leins while performing their regular teaching duties, we find the hard working supervisors of the various departments. Clifford Bromling, acting head of the vocational department, gives much of his time at the Gulls' Nest. Coach james Ennis, head of Everett's athletic department, led our footliall team to the CrossfState championship and virtual state championship, He was named Everett's 'IMan of the Year for Wil. Raymond Howell, director of music, is the man to whom this year's Ncsika is affectionately dedicated. Miss Edmere Roharge heads the for' cign language department, is adviser to the junior Red Cross and popular chairman of the faculty social committee, Miss Mahel Thoreson is the art supervisor and her classes are responsihle for the timely posters in the halls for games and dances. Noel S. W.tlf ther, head of the mathematics department, is also school treasurer and text hook custodian. ADVISORY SYSTEM Last year a new advisory system was initiated in Everett High School. It has proved very successful, Each student is assigned to a faculty adviser. Students meet with these advisers throughout the school year. In matters of scheduling, counwling, and general educational and personal advisement, the advisory system is used. The ref sponsihility for making out and issuing report cards rests with the advisers. Many questions are answered for the memhers of the new sophomore classes. Vxfhat rules and regulations should I know? How may I participate in the work of student hotly gov' ernment? Whztt are the traditions of Everett High School? Students make up the hulk of the humanity that is Everett High School. hut a handful of adults have dedicated their lives to protecting and furthering educational opportunities for us. These leaders give direction so that our less mature minds will not deviate into error. At the same time they encourage the students to think inf dependently and to explore new horizons. Administrators have consistently provided not only for the immediate needs of the school hut also for fixture needs of a changing society. Our present :administrative staff, shown ahove. is carrying on this tradition. The school hoard Qmemhers shown at left and rightj is directly responsihle to the citizens of the community for the orderly and efficient functioning ot the school and voluntarily offer their time for our advancement, The PTA is composed of parents and friends of teenfagers interested in their proh- lems. High school students are invited to their meetings and contrihute their ideas. The theme this year was Our responsihility the citizen child, which was carried out effectively through programs presenting speakers and panel discussions.
