One of their finest performances of 'H ' the year was in the Christmas Program, enthusiastically K i' looked forward to hy all Everett High School students. if , - I f Y Another outstanding function was the Annual Spring A I Concert, which featured many soloists as well as the selections hy the entire orchestra, Pianist Bonnie Wallf gren was the featured soloist in the Second Concerto in G Minor. hy Charles C. SaintfSaens. The orchestra also played Blue Tango, one of the newest of the instrumental compositions to he adapted for orchestra: this featured Barhara Sherman and Lawrence Baird in their inf tcrpretation of the Tango. Another highlight of the orchestras musical offering was the Serenade for Flute and French Horn. This concert proved to he very successful. The orchestra also provided the musical hackground for the 1951 Hi'-Iinx. Although we may not realize it, the music plays an important part in such a production and the orchestra deserves much praise for its fine work. After twentyfone years. the Senior Class Play was revived at Everett High School and here again the orchestra was the musical mainstay. The Snohomish County Mtisie Festival was henefited hy an appearance hy the Everett High School Orchestra and presented a picture of how collahoration hetween the music departments enahled them to uphold the name they already have for their outstanding musical ahility. Another important event for which the crchestra provides the music is the Baccalaureate, which honors the graduatf ing class each June. The orchestra is a group that is kept husy all the year around. participating in assemhlies, concerts. and various festivals, and has contrihuted color and variety to the activities of Everett High School and of the community. Conf gratulations go to the entire group composing the orchestra and to Raymond Howell for their untiring efforts to make Everett High School a School of Championsu in the music department, as well as in athletic events.
