glad' fklf Udkfldf Man works from dawn tull set of sun but woman s work us never done Thus over worked adage mught aptly summaruze the feelung of the Curls Club Cabunet durung the year From the openung week of school tull the day of funal grades one commuttee or another was always busy wuth current C-urls Club actuvtues In order to be more democratuc and spread the numerous jobs around as much as possble twenty fuve commuttees were formed wuth an average of about sux mem bers on each commuttee The chaurmen of these commuttees along wuth the offu cers formed the governung body of the Curls Club guuded by the excellent counsel of Muss Esther Johnson egldfldly UM Under the durectuon of Muss Eleanor Ahlers the Lubrary Club has agaun made utself famuluar to the students of Everett Hugh by keepung books un curculatuon un the lubrary and attendung to the many tasks necessary to mauntaun a cheerful atmosphere un one of the most umportant parts of the school Members of the club work un the Iubrary every peruod of the day as well as be fore and after school lt us these gurls who keep the lubrary appropruately decor ated and take care of the bulletun boards They have also compuled a scrap book of cluppungs tellung of Lubrary Club meetungs and projects The treasury purchased the sux lovely colored glass vases whuch are on the bookshelves But ut us not all work and no play for the club They have an evenung meet ung once a month and plan many socual functuons A Chrustmas party was held un December at Kathleen Bell s home and the group had a progressuve dunner un Aprul Lgefzgal fin! Acceptung a challenge the gurls of Everett Hugh School thus year organuzed a new pep club to promote spurut among the students and to be of servuce to the school The gurls chose as theur name the Seagals Theur furst protect cooperatung wuth the Hu Y Club un the annual football tag day was a tremendous success nettung a total of over four hundred dollars for the Prusoners War Reluef Wuth the profuts from two dances the gurls bought two large murrors for the gurls rooms and another for the Culls Nest They also donated forty dollars to the Cuurls Club treasury Supportung the Russuan War Reluef Druve the Seagals spon sored an old clothes druve at school A twenty fuve dollar war bond offered to the student brungung the largest amount was awarded to Betty Coldthorpe At the conclusuon of the druve a dance was held admussuon beung any artucle of old clothung Sunce theur unceptuon the Seagals through theur worthwhule efforts un audung many school and cuvuc actuvutues have become an umportant factor un extra currucular functuons of the school mzafz 615 In theur famuluar lught blue sweaters Horuzon Club gurls have become a defunute part of hugh school lufe thus year Muss Dorothy Jean Smuth us the faculty advuser for all school actuvutues of the club ln l94l eught gurls formed the Claruon Chapter of Horuzon Club whuch was then largely a senuor organuzatuon of Camp Fure Curls of Ameruca Today there are fuve chapters un Everett the Auroruan Elucuan Tutanuan Vuctoruan and Claruon chap ters There are approxumately one hundred twenty fuve members 25 11 - 1 - 11 - , .
