We thought it would be great being freshmen! We left all the kids behind at the Parlin and were ready to take on the world. How little did we know . . . We got lost in the halls and were given directions to the swim- ming pool on the fifth floor. It wasn ' t all that bad. At least we didn ' t have to walk on the right side of the hallway. For those of us who survived our first year at Everett High, sophomore year was a relieving thought. We looked down on the freshmen and treated them with no sympathy. After all, freshmen were supposed to be treated like that. Junior year was a time for many changes. It was a period of maturity in which we decided what we wanted to do with our lives. It was also a time for growing friendships and budding romances. It was a time for fun! The one thing we will remember Always and Forever is the Junior Prom at the Ocean View Country Club in Nahant. The beach and the moonlit sky made this an unforgetable evening. Although it was cut short, the Junior Picnic will be looked back upon with laughter and good memories — for those who do remember it. Sports at Everett High had a very good year. The Girl ' s Basketball and Field Hockey teams both made it into the GBL tournaments. In addition, the Girl ' s softball team, the Boy ' s Basket- ball team, and the Boy ' s Basketball team all held the title of GBL champs. Another change in our Junior year was due to the retirment of Mr. McCauley. With his ab- sence, we were left with no principal. Thanks to the efforts of Mr. Gibson as Acting Principal, we made it through the year. Junior year ended with a surprising change of officers. Gina Savino defeated Hercules Papantoniou for the position of President of the Graduating Class of ' 87. We would like to thank both for all their time and effort. Senior year had finally come. It was a time of happiness and of sorrow. It was the best year of our lives. 152 For most of us, Senior year started off as a party. After all, this was it — our last year at Everett High. Why not enjoy it? Enjoy it we did, but we all realized that we had to grow up and take on the responsibilities of being seniors. We survived SATs and even got our College Applications out in time. But Senior year wasn ' t all work. We have more than our share of good memories with Dress-Up Day, the Toga Party, and the Senior Prom at the Long Wharf Marriott. Sports also had a good year in 1987. The Girl ' s Field Hockey Team into the tournament. In addition the Boy ' s Hockey team and Basketball team both maintained winning records. For the past two years, the Basketball Cheerleaders have made it into the National Cheerleading Competition. In addition, they have appeared on Evening Magazine and Good Day. Order was also restored at Everett High with appointment of Mr. Leo as principal. Senior year was coming to an end. Although we were anxiously awaiting Graduation Day, the thought of leaving Everett High made us uneasy. After all, school was all we had known for the majority of our lives. What would we do after graduation! Graduation Day has finally come. As we sit here, we think of all the good times we have had and of all the special people we have shared them with. High School will no longer be our present, but our past. We will all move on with different ambitions, entering a new world that we know little about. Although we leave Everett High School behind, it will have an impression on us for the rest of our lives. It has taught us more than just reading and writing. We have learned the values of friendship teamwork, and are now ready to make it on our own. Everett High School will soon be a memory for the Class of ' 87. We will look back and re- member the good times and the bad, our special friends and our high school sweethearts. Everett High School will never leave us for we will always have our memories; no one can ever take that away. Gail Garron Linda Scully 153 1 157 158 PATRONS Alexis Lawrence Amerino J.
