Senior Memorandum ln August of 1948 about two hundred and thirty very green freshmen came to Everett for the first time. The first part of our initiation was carrying our chairs from the gymnasium to the lunch room, we even had tests the first day, then our schedules were made out, and we settled down to school work. The officers for the year 1948-1949 were Buddy Parks, president: Gypsy Parton, vice-president, Helen Rigsby, secretary, and lllarjorie Hopkins, treasurer. Dorothy Parton and Wayne Newman were class representatives. A sweetheart of Everett High School was elected for the first time, Freshman Blarjorie Hopkins received the honor. The '49 Gold Rush Carnival was held in the gym- nasium. Our candidates were Janie Largen, escorted by Buddy Parks, and Marjorie Hopkins, escorted by James Hutson.
