They have nearly everything that goes on at a carnival. After everybody has stuffed himself with food and played a great variety of games and contests, there is a pro- gram at which Mr. and Miss HILLTOPPER N-... are presented and King and Queen Carnigram are presented. The first part of our initiation was carrying our chairs from the gymnasium to the lunch room, we even had tests the first day, then our schedules were made out, and we settled down to school work. The officers for the year 1948-1949 were Buddy Parks, president: Gypsy Parton, vice-president, Helen Rigsby, secretary, and lllarjorie Hopkins, treasurer. Dorothy Parton and Wayne Newman were class representatives. A sweetheart of Everett High School was elected for the first time, Freshman Blarjorie Hopkins received the honor. The '49 Gold Rush Carnival was held in the gym- nasium. Our candidates were Janie Largen, escorted by Buddy Parks, and Marjorie Hopkins, escorted by James Hutson. When we were perfectly silly sophomores our oflicers were Don Bloore, president, Janie Largen, vice-president, Mary Charles Bean, secretary, and Buddy Parks, treas- urer. That year Norma White was F. H. A. Queen. Class representatives, Nlary Crowe and C. A. Graves were also candidates for the Nlr. and Bliss E. H. S. contest. John Taylor Spires was Boys County Representative. Junior oflicers were Ned Rizzardi, president, Vvayne Newman, vice-president, C. A. Graves, secretaryg and James Hutson, treasurer. Class Representatives were lklary Charles Bean and Don Nloore. Marjorie Hopkins and C. A. Graves were elected Carnigram King and Queen. The Carnigram royalty was honored at a banquet given by the HILLTOPPER Staff. The junior class presented the play Seven Sisters. The cast was Blarjorie Hopkins, C. A. Graves, Wayne Newman. Ned Rizzardi, Nancy Rudd, Sarah Lou Reeves, Jean VVikle, Margaret Copeland, Dolores Hancock, Ruby Hicks, Howard 1Vebb, Dorla James, Harold Thompson, and Gerald Reagan. lklarjorie Hopkins was chosen. by the faculty as Volun- teer Girls State representative. Gerald Reagan was the Everett representative at Boys County. The senior class of 1951 chose Ned Rizzardi as the most outstanding boy of our class. This year, 1951-1952, we elected our class officers in a new way, introduced by llr. Robert Davis, Nliss Ruby Mize, bliss Martha Wray, Nliss Una Armstrong, bliss Helen Jett, Mrs. llary Ruth Brown, and Nlr. O. Hood. The oflicers are President Loretta lloore, Vice- President Virginia Helton, Secretary Juanita Grindstaff, and Treasurer Dale Gregory. Don Nloore and Buddy Parks very capably captained the football team. On the football field the Everett Band was led by Drum lIaior'C. A. Graves and Sponsor Barbara Alex- ander. Nan Spivey was Captain. 1952 HILLTOPPER was edited by Ned Rizzardi. Senior superlatives were: Best-all-round, Janie Largen and Wayne Newman: Best Looking, Gypsy Parton and Don lVIOoreg Friendliest, Beuford Xliller and Alice Loweg Most Intellectual, llary Evelyn Teffeteller and Ned Rizzardi, and Wittiest, Nancy Rudd and Kenneth Keeble. The Drama Club, composed of members of the speech arts class, met bi-monthly on YVednesdays and presented programs in which each member took part at least twice yearly. Its projects included sponsoring the Club Circus, which every organization was free to enter. The play, Take Care of Bly Little Girlf, which was an all school cast, was presented on Kfarch 28. Also in March the club presented a one-act play in assembly as part of International Theatre llonth.
