Mc The Everett High School Band was started- by Mr. Gardner and was given a big boost by Mr. Don Carp who built- it into being one of the big bands in the area. This year the band was very active. They played at seven home football games and at the Howell and the Holt games. The month of October was a busy month. Besides playing at the games, the band participated in Band Day at Ann Arbor, and also in the Community Chest Kickoff held at Memorial Stadium. Two concerts were given: the first one in December and the other in April. In the spring the Band marched in the Centennial and Memorial Day parades, played in the Centen- nial Concert Band, and played at Baccalaureate and Commencement. For the first time, the band played in the District Band Festival in Hillsdale. They were awarded a second place for the per- formance they gave. The band contributed a great deal toward school spirit by playing in all the assemblies.
