The Everett Marching Band made several public appearances. They performed on the iield before and at the half of every home varsity football game. They appeared in the General Motors Parade, the Christmas Parade, the Junior Chamber of Commerce Parade, and the Veterans Parade. Led by a fast, hard charging line that opened many holes for a set of speedy, elusive, and hard running backs, the Vikings rolled their way into pay din almost every time they had the ball. Very few times all season were they thwarted in their efforts to score. The Vikings were nearly equal on defense to their offensive powers in turning in live shut outs for the opponents and in many games giving up only one or two first downs. YVith the progress of the season the Viking machine seemed to gather momentum and rolled over opponents until it reached a pitch that could not seemingly be halted. Ranked by many of the experts as the outstanding B team in the State, the 1954 Vikings are a team that has stamped its mark on the annals of Everett High School and will be remembered for many years to come. This year the club has been accepted by the National Rille Association and has received its charter. Safety rules have been studied in club meetings as well as the parts of a gun, gun position and sighting. The club is planning to use the rifle range at Sexton High School for the actual tiring of rifles. WOODCRAFTERS' CL UB The Woodcrafters' Club provides an opportunity for boys who are not en- rolled in woodworking classes, as well as those who are enrolled. to go into the woodshop after school and make projects that they have never had the chance to carry out. Into this period of nine and a half months will be many memories that will long be cherished. In the pages that follow the Archives staff of 1954- 1955 endeavor to present an account of the year's happenings. A new school year begins with meeting the ad- ministrators, teachers, and pupils. A class sched- ule is given to each pupil, and the year's study program gets underwayg therefore, in this volume the departments get next consideration. Lasting friendships are formed in the school clubs and sports. At Lansing Everett High School there are clubs and sports to interest every individual. These activities are presented according to the seasons inasmuch as the School Year and its changing events forms the thread of continuity throughout this book. 2 TABLE Administration Seniors . , Underclassmen Departments . .
