Allman, M. Sheer, N. Henrys, D. Bemis. The year of T950 found Coach Dean Shippey in his first year as head football coach at Lansing Everett. Coach Shippey's boys did a fine iob under his capable leadership. Along with Coach Shippey, Captain Sheldon Homer led the boys through the season picking up a record of 3 wins, 4 losses, and l tie. Helping also to score these victories were the leading ground gainer, Clarence Quinn and Co-Captains-elect Jerry O'Connell and Art Smith. The chances of a championship team were hurt when the Varsity lost 3 games by one point. This year's team boasted of one of the best lines the school has had for some years. The backtield had deception but lacked size and experience. Next year's Varsity, with help from this year's reserves, who were under the able direction of Mr. Skilling, should have a very profitable season. The Sports Staft of the Archives wishes them all the very best of luck and hopes that they can manage to bring the Capitol Circuit Football Championship back to Everett High. J. Sartor and P. The purpose of the League is to promote more unity among the girls at Everett. The Holiday Frolic was sponsored by the Girls' League as well as the annual Mothers' Day Tea and the Presentation of Roses. The Varsity Club is an organization of boys who have earned varsity letters in one of Everett's many sports. A boy, after being awarded his first varsity letter, goes through the initiation which makes him a full-fledged member. Coach Sweeney is their advisor. The boys sell candy and hotdogs at all home games. The money is to be used for track records that are to be mounted in the gymnasium. Left to right, back row: T. Holtmeyer, C. Quinn, E. Townsend, J. The club's advisor is Mrs. McCarty who, with her assistant, Kay Bolz, teaches games, acts as ref- eree, and supervises all activity. Members of this club are eligible to earn letters and monograms on the basis of an approved point system. All the girls are hoping for a larger membership in the years to come. The Hi-Y is one of the lesser known of the school organizations, but one of the best. With the ollicers, who are elected by the club, they have done many good things this year. One example of this work is the sponsoring of dances after school to teach the boys to dance. In future years many accomplishments may come from this club. Left to right, standing: J. Lewis, H.
