DEDICATION For her understanding, patience, and superior teaching abilities, the Class of 1988 and the Warrior staff dedicate this edition of the yearbook to Mrs. Cynthia Baker. Mrs. Baker was raised in Sunnyside (Hopewell) and attended school in the Northern Bedford County District. She was graduated in 1969 from Northern Bedford High School. As a high school student, she was active in many facets of high school life being especially involved with band and chorus. In her senior year she was Homecoming Queen. She attended IUP and Penn State University. Mrs. Baker is married to Mr. William Baker, also a member of the Mathematics Department of EHS. They reside in Saxton. She is especially proud of her two children, John, age 7 and Amanda, age 4. During the sixteen years Mrs. Baker has taught in the Everett system, she has been an instructor of algebra, consumer mathematics, and calculus. Thank you, Mrs. Baker, and best wishes from the Class of '88 and the Warrior Staff. 4

United States of America Young American Medal for Bravery Presented to Melinda Joy Clark Whereas, the Young American Medals Committee, with the approval of the Attorney General of the United States, has determined that Melinda Joy Clark should be awarded the Young American Medal for Bravery for having exhibited courage, presence of mind and swiftness of action, regardless of her own personal safety, on the eleventh day of February, 1985, in rescuing her sister and two brothers, who were in actual imminent danger of losing their lives when fire swept the family home in Everett, Pennsylvania. Now. therefore. I. Ronald Reagan, President of the United States, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Act of August 3, 1950, 64 Stat. 397-398, do hereby certify that the Young American Medal for Bravery has been awarded to Melinda Joy Clark in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighty-seven and has been presented to her by me personally for and on behalf, and in the name of the President and the Congress of the United States of America. s Ronald Reagan President of the United States 3
