Two J'OAMVDhd We, the Class of 1967, take pride in presenting the thirty-first volume of the WARRIOR. This year the theme is WIDENING HORIZONS. Reading this book will help us see and remember how our school life has broadened our horizons. After graduation, we shall leave behind us many dear and close friends who shared the challenge of growing and learning. In years to come, it will be refreshing to turn these pages wherein lie the memories of youth, companionship, and teachers who inspired us as we set out toward wider horizons. Fisher We, the Class of 1967, are proud to dedicate this edition of the WARRIOR to Mr. Ray M. Fisher. Upon graduating from Shippensburg State College, Mr. Fisher began his teaching career in a one-room school. He has been teaching for thirty-six and a half years, fifteen of which have been in the Everett Area School System. Mr. Fisher teaches seventh and eighth grade science and serves as advisor to the Junior Science Club. Numerous students will remember him for the solid foundation he has given them in beginning science. He has inspired many to follow scientific careers. We quote this dedicated teacher as saying, I like to learn. This is evident, as he has spent several summers taking extra courses to increase his knowledge. Mr. Fisher has traveled widely throughout this country and has also toured Europe. As we Seniors remember our years at EAHS, Mr. Fisher is foremost in our memories. He will long be remembered for the kindness and inspiration he showed us in our most formative years. We salute you, Mr. Fisher. The staff Administration ddmini Jbiai Miller C. The district serves the same areas of population as the jointure, which had been in effect since July 1, 1950. Originally thirty school directors had served, six being elected from each of the six districts. Now nine members will serve, with three being elected from each of the three regions into which the entire district has been subdivided for school purposes. As we hurried to classes, we observed the upper classmen and, to the best of our ability, copied their every mood. In eighth grade we felt a little better. We finally outranked someone! However, we were still rather humble—there was a long way to go yet and many problems to overcome. Our first money-making project was a skating party in our freshman year. We were now fairly well adjusted to high school life and chose our courses of study for the next three years. In our sophomore year we were labeled Senior High. We had a successful candle sale and started making plans for graduation, which was really not far away. During our fifth year at Everett Southern High we enjoyed staging our Variety Show. We made the Christmas sales and received the long-awaited and much acclaimed class rings. We held an impressive Prom for the Seniors at the Bedford Elks Club Ballroom—the first time in the history of our school that this important highlight was not held on school premises. And now we are Seniors! We have been busy this year — selling magazines, ordering name cards and announcements, trading pictures, rehearsing for our class play, and getting admitted into colleges and other institutions of higher learning. We are dreaming of the Prom, our class trip, and Graduation Day. Many changes have taken place within ourselves and the school since we came here in 1961. Our newspaper, formerly The Parrot, was renamed The Chieftain this year. Our class will be the first to be graduated from the newly named Everett Area High School. All the friends we have made, the teachers we have heckled, the good times and the hard of the past six years have made too great an impression ever to be forgotten. All of these experiences have helped us to broaden our horizons. As we leave our Alma Mater, we resolve to hold fast to our motto. —Charlotte Calhoun Twenty Seven S UOA MONTE ADAMS DEBRA BAREFOOT WILLIAM BARKMAN ELEANOR BARRETT EARLENE BARTHALOW MONTE ADAMS Monte May 20 This blue-eyed future mechanic's favorite possession is his '55 Olds. Angels (?) and angles Past and Present Scholars Seventy Four QunljoA Hiqh Sriwol The Junior High students of EAHS have the challenge of a bright and happy future. Today's Junior High athletic teams show the determination to build the championship Varsity teams of tomorrow. Young artists, musicians, and authors stand on the threshold of unlimited opportunity. Today's beginners at homemaking, business education, industrial arts, and agriculture show promise of tomorrow's success in family living. Perhaps most important of all, however, are today's honor students. Young scientists and mathematicians study to understand the ever-changing world, while those interested in social sciences learn about the machinery of the government in which they may one day hold an integral position. In the hands of these young scholars we place the ideal of WIDENING HORIZONS. It is up to them to decide how bright their future is going to be and how much good they will do for their world.
