QIoaa Hitdjohif. Cautious and somewhat bewildered, we took our places in the halls of Everett Southern High as we entered Seventh Grade. Our memories carry us back to the many friendships then formed and to the process of becoming accustomed to upperclassmen and new teachers. In Grade Eight we still felt a little lost at times. Although we were gaining a greater insight into the complexities of high school life and its responsibilities, we were not always so sure that we were ready to take a part. Yet we put on a brave front! As Freshmen, still adding to what one day would become our book of memories, we sponsored the traditional skating party. This was the year, too, when we firmly established ourselves in school activities. Then we became Sophomores. The memories of our candle sales linger still. This year we continued our extracurricular activities and began to think seriously of our future, for graduation was drawing a little too close for the greatest comfort. Our school life really built up in our Junior year. We became even more active in our studies and in school activities. On April 3, 1964, we cooperated with one another and presented the second Annual Junior Class Variety Show. We then had the privilege of helping select a standard class ring for our school and ordered our own. On May 8 we entertained the Class of 1964 at the Annual Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, for which we had raised money by selling light bulbs and Christmas commodities. Now we are Seniors and are still building memories to carry with us. Here we pause to remember all those with whom we have associated—classmates, underclassmen, and teachers, we are proud of our leaders, of our athletes and musicians, and of those who have brought distinction to themselves and to our class through their outstanding work. Eagerly we await the presentation of our class play, our class trip to Washington, D. C., graduation activities, and the arrival of this book. We shall use what we learned here as the foundation for our life, and we shall continue to build toward our ultimate goals. We wish the underclassmen and the faculty continued progress and happiness and memories as fond as ours. Whatever becomes of us now, we shall always treasure the memories of our Alma Mater. —Janet Williams Twenty Seven
