High School Principal The Class of 1965 will cherish among its memories the privilege of being the first class to be graduated under the administration of G. GLEN CRAWFORD in his first year at ESHS. Mr. Crawford came to Everett from Femdale-Dale Joint High School, Johnstown, where he taught business education and served as the chairman of the department. He served three years with the Army and was graduated from Indiana State College and the University of Pittsburgh. He is married and has four children. Although listening to music and performing on organ or piano are his chief delights, he also enjoys bowling and gardening. From our brief experience with Mr. Crawford, we think that his philosophy must agree with an expression of Lewis H. Brown: The purpose of education is to prepare men and women to live, to think, to see. to be happier and better citizens of the state. Seven

Supervising Principal President Theodore Roosevelt once said: Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing. The Class of 1965 likes to hold in its memories the image of MILLER C. HOOD as one who works hard at the worthy work of administering the elementary and secondary schools within the Everett Southern Joint School District. Mr. Hood, a native of Indiana County, is a graduate of Indiana State College and the University of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hood teaches first grade at Everett Elementary School, and his only son teaches science in a nearby town. His daughter is a Freshman here at ESHS. He enjoys as hobbies reading, observing the habitat of plants and animals, and hunting. Six

Jcucully Mrs. Diehl, Mr. Vespa, Mrs. Baker, Mr. Roberts MRS. JESSIE V. DIEHL serves as Head of the Mathematics Department and teaches mathematics. She is an adviser to the Junior Class. Married and the mother of a daughter, Mrs. Diehl lives near Everett. She is a graduate of Lock Haven State College. RONALD E. VESPA teaches World History and English 9. As a member of the coaching staff, he works with the Junior High basketball and football squads. He is also an adviser to the Junior Class and the Chess Club and director of the Senior Class play. Married and the father of one child, Mr. Vespa enjoys sports, reading, and good entertainment. An alumna of Juniata College, MRS. MARTHA H. BAKER teaches reading and serves as an adviser to Grade 7. She resides on a farm located in Snake Spring Valley and is the mother of one son and three daughters. Mrs. Baker likes to collect significant quotations. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, LEROY P. ROBERTS teaches English 10. He serves as an adviser to the Sophomore Class and the Dramatics Club. Last year Mr. Roberts organized a track team, an activity which he will continue as this Warrior goes to press. A native of St. Michael, he likes to hunt, swim, and ride. Eight
