We consider this as the final gesture of our class to perpetuate itself in the memories of future years. In passing from one phase of our school activities into an- other, you will become acquainted with Dennis the Menacef, who comes to visit us in this book. As you follow this funny little character through its pages, you will meet our friends: the facul- ty members, who provided a basis for our scholastic advance- mentg the underclassmen, who shared our happy timesg and those who provided enjoyment for our leisure hours. We hope that as you read this in the future you will re- member us with kindness. Dennis the Menace used by courtesy of Hank Ketchum and copyright 1957 by The Hull Syndicate Inc. 5. yn THELMA E. W1'rN1:ssr:s: SANDRA HITE BETTY IO CORDELL Thirty Two 'nflaaakiatn On September 4, 1953, we entered the portals of Everett Southern High School meek, bewildered freshmen. As we walked through its halls, we realized the door to a new kind of life had been opened. And then as we became accustomed to our everyday surroundings, we took part in varied activities, both individually and as a class. As the year closed, we were very much a part of high school. After a short vacation we returned to our little red schoolhouse. We recreated exciting summer events and finally settled down to the year ahead -a year of much activity. We sold sweatshirts and scarves and also spon- sored a skating party to make money. The year passed quickly. And then we were IUNIORS! But we were in a strange setting! We had moved into a beautiful new modern building. We had moved into a new type of activity-we produced our first class play, We Shook the Family Tree. We purchased our class rings and in May played host to the seniors at the Iunior-Senior Banquet and Prom. The theme for the prom was Moonlight and Roses. Seemingly overnight, it had happened to us. We were SENIORS! Many things were to be done before graduation, but all could be taken care of. Senior pictures were taken, work was begun on the Warrior, and name cards and announcements were ordered. We were measured for caps and gowns and chose our class colors, flower, and motto. We sold magazines. breaking all previous records. We presented our second class play, which was entitled Hangman's Noose, and finally we traveled to Washington, D.C., for our senior class trip. As Baccalaureate and Commencement approach, we realize we shall soon be closing the door of our high school career. The friendships we have made, our many achievements, our fond memories of Everett Southern High School will long be with us. -BRADY HARCLERODE Thirty Three MOST POPULAR BUS! The play might be called The Best Years of Our Lives, and the players included every one of those excited freshmen about to begin the long trek to graduation. The second act, our sophomore year, found us entering a new high school, but this time we were confident because we knew we belonged and were a vital part of ESHS. We even sponsored a skating party and sold sweatshirts. Now it's Act Three, and we're juniors taking part in everything possible. We are aiding our treasury by selling candy. Our class play, Clementine, was a grand success and a wonderful experience. We are waiting patiently for the arrival of our class rings. We are also waiting anxiously for the work, worry and wonder of the Iunior-Senior Prom lying just ahead. As We approach the fourth and final act of our drama and though we are saddened by the loss of many of our players, we hope the Class of '58 will give the world many fine citizens and will be remembered long at ESHS. We, the Class of '58, want to take this opportunity to wish the Class of '57 much happiness and success in the future. They have set a fine example for us and have made many friends who will not soon forget them. -PATRICIA BROWN Thirty Six .aww HOMEROOM 310 FRONT ROVV-l. Hoover, I. Snyder. R, Bartholow, G, Smith. R. It means a cheer is about to begin and everyone can now release suppressed energy. The cheerleaders stimulate and support the Warriors as they iight to win. Besides inspiring our team, they work out new cheers, lead us at pep meetings, sock hops and banquets and act as ushers at athletic events. One of their favorite cheers is: Red, White, fight!
