Shop Everybody today lives in a technical world. Preparing boys ofEvanston for life in this industrial age was the iob of the shop teachers. With the finest facilities now avai lable in the new Technical Bui ld- ing, our shops were able to offer me- chanical courses to all interested stu- dents. Freshmen enrolled in the technical- arts program, explored four industrial fields: Noods, metals, graphic arts, and mechanical drawing. Nine weeks were spent on each of these four topics, during which time the students were bought in touch with new processes, and various materials and tools. Interests brought out during the first year were developed through full-year courses in wood, metals, printing, draft- ing or automobile repair. Upon com- pletion of these courses, an advanced course was offered to those students who developed special preferences or talents hrough the standard course .
