'l' 'l' 'l' Oliver Cunningham was an EvansTon boy. l-lis parenTs, in proud and loving remembrance, and wiTh a view Towards encouraging ThaT same spiriT which is The ToundaTion of good American ciTizenship, oTFered TourTeen years ago The TirsT Cliver BaTy Cunningham Memorial Prize. IT is given each year To ThaT man oT The graduaTing class who mosT closely approaches The ideals oT scholarship, physical TiTness, and moral inTegriTy which Gliver Treasured, and who sTands ToremosT among his Tellows in all-around manly virTues. AlThough ouTsTanding Trom The sTarT among his classmaTes, his greaTesT Triumph was The winning oT The Yale prize Tor inTellecTual abiliTy, high manhood, capaciTy Tor leadership, and service To The universiTy. During four years There he was an ouTsTanding undergraduafe, mainTaining high scholarship, giving much of his aTTen- Tion To aThleTics and fooTball in parficular, and Taking parT in many acTiviTies. ln l928, afTer Three addifional years in The Harvard Law School, he wenT To New York CiTy and was admiffed To The bar. He is now married and associafed wiTh a firm There. AfTer a year aT Exefer in New Hampshire, Joseph Prendergasf enrolled aT PrinceTon. He was presidenf of his class for all. four years, played regular halfback on The championship Toofball Team, and served in imporTanT sTudenT capaciTies, ln his Senior year PrinceTon voTed him her finesf all-around man, and furfher honored him wiTh a Two-year scholarship aT Okford. He Traveled exfensively Throughouf Europe, more especially Russia, and spenT anofher year in Berlin as The represenfafive of a New York law firm. He confinued his sTudies and was admiTTed To The New York bar in l93I. WiTh his marriage To Amalya SarTorelli of New York lasT year and appoinf- menT as AssisTanT ATTorney for The UniTed STaTes, his career is broughT To daTe. Roberf Slafer enfered DarTmouTh in l923, and for four years ranked near The Top of his class. A favorife wiTh boTh The faculfy and sTudenT body, he was graduafed cum laude, Phi Befa Kappa, and Took a posiTion wiTh: a consTrucTion corporaTion. ln l93l he esfablished his own business in Louisville, and aT presenT is married and living There. Donald Grimes maTriculaTed aT Illinois and, alfhough The average person mighf have become losT in such a large universiTy, he was an ouTsTanding man. Affer his gradua- Tion he began To learn The grocery business, and is now an official of The lndependenT Grocers' Alliance, anrorganizafion which has banded Togefher Thousands of indepen- denT merchanfs from coasT To coasT. In I929 he married Edyfhe Homan, a former class- maTe aT Evansfon High School. They have Two daughfers and are residenfs of EvansTon. William Cleveland spenT a year aT Exefer before enrolling in The class of I93O aT Yale. His college educaTion was derived in a greaT parT from his sTudies, alfhough swimming and Tennis occupied some of his Time. AfTer his decision To become a docTor, he enfered The NorThwesTern Graduafe School for furTher research in The sciences. He is now finishing his Junior year aT The NorThwesTern Medical School. The Tall of I926 found George Clayson a Freshman aT Yale. Aside from his regular sTudies, he Took an acTive parT in The publicaTions, and in his Junior year won The coveTed Y sweafer in Track. AfTer graduaTion he Took a posiTion wiTh The Agfa Ansco Corporafion, manufacfurers of camera film and phofographic papers and supplies. He is married, and is The proud faTher of a son born lasT Ocfober. Eighfeen
