Melanie Allardyce, head cook, has been in charge of our cafeteria. In this capacity, she has been ordering food, planning menus, supervising and cooking delicious and nutritious breakfasts and lunches. Mrs. Allardyce, because of your dedicated efforts to our school, we are happy to dedicate this annual to you. 2 The memory of many activities that you have enjoyed this year will grow dim as you grow older; however, the activities that are recorded in this beautiful publication will always be as eminent as yesterday. As time goes by, you will find yourself thumbing through its pages many times in order to relive some of the exciting school activities of 1983. Many hours of diligent work go into the complication of a yearbook and the finished pro- duct is the culmination of the efforts of many people. I commend you on your finished pro- duct. This book is a reflection of the students, staff, and parents of your excellent school. The Vernon Parish School Board, the Central Office Staff and I appreciate your expertise and dedication and we praise you for a job well done. We wish you success in all your future endeavors. Sincerely, John C. Burns Superintendent 13 Principal’s Message It is with great pleasure that I commend the 1982-1983 Annual Staff for their outstanding effort in compiling and editing this yearbook. Winter Activities The leaves have fallen from the trees, the chill wind blows, and frosty air nips our toes, the winter season is upon us. Our students continue to endeavor at their many activities. Basketball games have begun in earnest as our players strive to play their very best. The biggest highlight of the season — Evan’s Eagles boys won over their rival, Anacoco. Homecoming in January 1983 brought forth the eight maids com- peting for the title of Queen. Sweetheart Queen contestants’ competition was a highly guarded secret until its announcement on February 15. Our Christmas Carnival was a huge success and helped raise funds for our clubs and classes. Front Row. L to R: Kevin Martin. Keith Sinquefield. John Jarrell. Karl Mueller. Kevin Smith. Kevin Powers.
