1979 We, the 1978-79 Annual Staff are proud to dedicate this year’s annual to one of the finest School Board Members that Evans has ever had. He served from January 1, 1961 to December 31, 1978. During the terms he served we saw our school grow from about 280 to about 450 students. Also, during his time the school added seven more classrooms and built a new agricultural building. The agricultural shop was built out of the maintenance money. The Evans High School buildings were the first in the parish to be fully air-conditioned. Thus, we dedicate this years annual to Mr. Roland Mitcham. Dedication

Principal's Message Our school’s progress is not measured altogether by high quality classroom teaching and the results obtained therefrom. A school annual and other activities performed well, are also indicative of pupil growth and progress and their value cannot be overlooked. 1 would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Evans Annual Staff and Sponsor for their efforts in compiling and editing this yearbook. Many of the moments, which we shall forever treasure will be remembered each time we open this book. As in other phases of successful school endeavors, a good result is the product of the cooperation of the student body, the faculty, and the patrons of the community. With the sincere work of these groups, may we promote growth of our school during our time of responsibility to it. As your principal, may 1 extend to each student, teacher, and employee who comprises the school family, my sincere thanks for an outstanding school year, and may I wish each of you the best of everything in the future. Sammy L. Hinson Principal
