WEDDING UNITES CLASSES WEDDINGS ARE PERFORMED everyday, but the ceremony at Evangel is unique. The old student-new student wedding tra- ditionally unites the freshman class with the student body. President J. Robert Ashcroft read the service and Dean Klaude Kendrick gave the bride away in the chapel ceremony. As a symbolic bride and groom treading the aisle to the strains of the Lohengrin Wedding March, JoAnn Davis represented the freshman class and Don Beeman, student government president, the upperclassmen. Attendants were Marvin Allen, Nancy Brubaker, Ed Quigley, Beverly Leisy, Barbara Price, Dale Conway, Carole Abate, Del Wayne Nimmo, Joan Compton and Gary Cook. The newly decorated student union building was formally present- ed to the students'in October. Jo Ann Davis and Gary Vagle were named Lady and Knight of the Kastle. The Student Government working with the Kiwanis Club sponsored the project to provide funds for shoes for underprivileged children of Springfield. Twenty per cent of the sales went into the Student Union fund of the college. it l I Q I and Jack Powers. Student Government and its officers spon- . . . . . sored the event with Don Bee- man, Dale Conway and Peggy Catlett making the awards. The Kastle features a lounge and game room.
