VIVIEN KENNEDY A graduale of Vassar, Mrs. Kennedy has been wifh fhe facully of lEvander for almosf 20 years. She has also faughi af Boys High, Rich- mond Hill, and Monroe. She did her graduafe work al Columbia Univer- si'ry. She is 'rhe proud parenf of fwo children, one of whom is a sophomore ai' her college Alma Maier. Mrs. Kennedy has a varie+y of inferesfs. Teach- ing hisfory is one, bul' she enioys mosl' of all +he long quief days spen'r ai her lonely farm in Vermoni. RALPH LlBER-ll Mr. Liberii, a member of +he boys' gym deparfmenf, noi only enioys his leaching career buf also leads a full and rich privafe life. He received his B.S. degree from New York Universiiy, aHer having won a scholarship fhereg he maiored in sociology and physical educaiion. He majored in biology and psychology in his work for his mas+er's degree: he fhen +augh'r af Texlile High School and C.C.N.Y. JACK WEINSTEIN Mr. Weinsfein is known fo Evander sfudenfs as fhe humorous chem- isfry feacher. However, besides being a very inferesfing insfrucfor, he is a man wifh an inferesfing personal life, highlighfed by his wife, fwo chil- dren, and his dog, of whom he is very fond. Mr. Weinsfein affended C.C.N.Y., where he received his B.A. degree, and Columbia, where he graduafed wifh a masfer's degree. Mr. Weinsfein's chief inferesf has al- ways been chemisfry, and he has done a greaf deal of graduafe work in 'l'his field. WILLIAM WEINSTEIN Widely known as Evander's baskefball coach, Mr. Weinsfein has been beneafh Evander's big fop for 25 years. During fhis 'rime he has faughf fhe sfudenfs of Evander fhe infricacies of mafhemafics, as well as fraining fhe male porfion of our class in healfh educafion. Mr. Weinsfein graduafed from Cify College and Columbia Universify. His hobbies are musical in nafure: he enioys singing, piano playing, and has been known fo compose occasionally. However, he seems always fo enjoy solving a difficulf prob- lem in mafhemafics. BLANCHE G. WEIS Mrs. Weis leads a very inferesfing life bofh as a feacher and as a housewife. She complefed her educafion af Cify College, Columbia, and Fordham, where she maiored in English. She had faughf af Long Island Cify and Clinfon High School before coming fo Evander. Alfhough mosf of her privafe life is faken up by her role as a housewife, she sfill finds fime for many hobbies and pasfimes such as playwrifing, reading, and music appreciafion, which she feels help fo give her a broader ouflook on life. MARGARET WILKENS Since her graduafion from Barnard College, Miss Wilkens has been feaching mafhemafics af Evander. In addifion she has sfudied piano af fhe Manhaffan School of Music and was fhere a member of fhe orchesfra, where she played fhe violin. Miss Wilkens is also an avid amafeur phofog- rapher, and has won many awards for her beaufiful scenic represenfafions. She has faken various frips abroad and fhrough fhe Wesfern Unifed Sfafes. Her winfer vacafions are spenf in picfuresque New England, where her fime is spenf in numerous winfer sporfs.

Mr. Gay Iikes all sporrs, buf mosf of all he enjoys his Ieaching experience a+ Evander and sincerely hopes fo finish his career here. PHYLLIS JAFFE Mrs. Jaffe, Evander's insis+en+ parliamenfarian, has been Ieaching for I5 years. She is a graduafe of Barnard College and Columbia Teachers College. She is a veferan of James Madison and ForI' Hamilfon Highs, and remembers quife vividly Ihe ouf-door classes fhere. AI'rhough she is a person of quife varied inferesfs, Mrs. Jaffe likes Ieaching bes'r of all. ANNA N. SOLOMON Mrs. Solomon is a Ieacher of secreI'ariaI sI'udies. She had 'raughf in bofh elemenfary and junior high schools before coming Io Evander. Mrs. Solomon is a gracluafe of Hunfer College. Throughouf her 'reaching career her aim has been +o help Ihe slower s+uden+ +o Iead a successful Iife. She has one son of whom she is very proud and +hree grandchildren wi+h whom she has spenf many pIeasan'I hours babysifring and as a pIayma+e. She enjoys wafching TV aI' her home in Manha'H'an as weII as Ieaching af Evander. ELIZABETH BARRETT Mrs. BarreH of Evander's English Depar'rmenI' is a graduafe of Smifh College. She owns a IoveIy home in Pelham, New York and enjoys +he quiei' counI'ry Iife insfead of Ihe +umuII' of Ihe big ci+y. Mrs. BarreH' spends a grea'I deal of Iime reading, which she regards as a broadening and en- riching experience. She also enjoys many sporfs, parIicuIarIy swimming. I7
