These devofed women have mofhered +he sfudenfs, befriending fhem personally and giving +hem fhe mosf experf guidance wifhouf sfinf. They have wafched aflendance, marks, and aver- ages, have made cerfain fhal' fhe sfudenfs fulfilled requiremenfs for fwo-and fhree-unif groups and for music and hygiene, fhal' +hey knew arifhmefic, knew how fo behave fhem- selves, and knew how lo swim. lnferviews wifh sfudenfs, nofes home, falks wifh parenfs, long- range program plans were all parf of fheir work as counselors. lf fook fime, and fhen more fime. And fhen a sfudenf somefimes failed, or could nof fake five subjecfs, and fhe plans had 'lo be changed. We remember Mrs. Schrank, who resigned fo be a home- keeping wife, and our beloved Miss Crowley, who leff us fo be Assisfanf Principal in 'I'he school of her choice. We hope she'll be as loved by her new pupils as she was by usl In her place we now have Mrs. Zifo, an experl' in guidance. We know her work fhrough 'rhe l+alian Nigh+s of which she had charge. She lives in her own home, a new one, in New Rochelle. Her husband is a pharmacisf. Her fen-year old daughfer is her chief ioy. Music she loves, especially 'lhe opera. Our dear Mrs. Donohoe deserves a special vofe of lhanks, for she has devofed herself fo our guidance since we emerged from +he Freshman class. We like her so much, and we have an idea fhaf she likes us, foo. She has had much fo give us from her own rich personal life, for she has .TE lf, Wlllllpf-allflii had care and sorrow and can help us wifh our froubles. She was fhe wife of Evander's laie Assislanf Principal, John A. Donohoe. ln her work as reacher of speech she has helped her sfudenfs conquer shyness as well as mechanical defecfs, and she has done as much for +he sfudenfs she advises. She has direcfed Evander's Varsify plays for many years, and now she direcfs our school acfs. She has fraveled widely, and she helps us fravel in fhe realms of gold. How can we lhank her enough? Mrs. Bowden, foo, has worked so hard wifh us. She says she enioys being a guidance counselor. She 'lhinks fhal' Seniors are easier fo handle fhan freshmen because 'lhey have a sense of responsibilify and of honor. However, she is fond of all Evanderifes. She is herself a graduafe of Evan- der as well as of Hunfer. She has always wanfed fo +each mafh, because she loves 'lo work our problems and fo help ofhers work fhem ouf. Her favorife hobbies are gardening, cooking and aflending frack meefs. She claims fhaf she was responsible for fhe firsf 'lrack feam al' Columbus. Her husband, who also graduafed from Evander, has bofh 'lrack and swimming E's. Our guidance counselors are wonderful women, and we hope fo be worfhy of fhem in our lafer lives.
