I As ma- ture seniors we began fulfilling our motto, Hvvorlc Conquers All, plunging with a will into politics, and finally electing our exalted Senior Officers. President Don Kuntze, with the assistance ol: Vice- President Bette De Vvitt has since been supplying us with those essential Fireside Chatsn about affairs at Evander. Rita Most, our Historian, has brought all her talents into play to give us an out- standing Oriole: and Marge Di Pierre and Bona Kellman, paragons of efficiency have been discharging their duties as Treasurer and Sec- retary with incomparable efficiency. I But choosing capable officers hasn't been our only accomplishment. Our senior hats typified our spirit strictly on the sharp side. Our aesthetic sense manifested itself in our choice of colors: maroon and aqua. When it comes to progress, we cannot exactly say we were backward. Few Evander- ites will forget Arista President Lenny Balish and Vice-President Bob Givand at the Clinton-Evander game at Randalls Island when they shattered all precedents by leading the Aristacrats in cheering for our boys. Especially Al Follman who, as usual, distinguished himself during the game. Not to be outdone, Carmella Cirillo aston- isher members of the senior class by having the senior banner in the showcase within six weeks. Heading our senior activities were Don Ferris, Jean Feinstein and Amy Di Carluccio who successfully threw us into a variety of gay moods at senior dances. I The seniors hit their stride on Frolic Day when we turned the school topsy-turvy and roamed through the halls dressed in the costumes of such famous literary characters as Tom Sawyer, Scarlett O'Hara, and the Vviciced Witch of the Vvest. During our last term, too, we were very lucky to be able to witness one of the most stupendous productions in Evander's history, The Mikado, which was beautifully staged and flawlessly supervised by Mrs. Donohue and Miss Kelly. Qutstand- ing seniors in the cast were Bob Weller who had us rolling in the aisles and Johnny Grieco whose tenor voice charmed us beyond words. I We had crammed much worthwhile activity into such a short term, but our crowning achievement came trailing clouds of glory in the middle of January,-four prom at the Ritz-Carlton. Gay young blades in white ties and tails, visions of loveliness in Howing slcirts, the faint, sweet perfume of Howers, soft music, shining eyes. . . . All these things have impressed themselves ineradicably on our minds. I And now we close Evandefs doors behind us--not as students, but as Alumni. Somehow, Alumni sounds so aloof and separate, and as such, inapplicable to us: for the bond of love which we share with Evander will lceep us forever a part of her.
