I N T H E Before fhe dawn of a new day for all of us, lef us pause for a momenf fo reminisce. Lei' us gaze upon 'rhe foofprinfs we have made during fhe four years we have spenf in Evander's halls. We sfarfed life as a group of budding young minds, laboring under 'rhe sfigma of being Freshmen. Whaf fhrills fhe lordly Sophomores had in sfore for us, sending us down fo fhe basemenf for our lunch. Then our sfafus in 'l'urn was changed fo Sophomore. Wifh fhe passage of sfill anofher year we progressed info fhe .lunior ranks. Here fhings really began fo happen. Our sixfh ferm wifnessed fhe specfacle of fhe class coming fogefher for fhe firsl' 'lime as a unif. Pauline Collins very graciously provided fhe various forms of enrerfainmenf, and Mrs. Sfern helped us ouf of our ferpsichorean difficulfies by organizing a dancing club. The enfire affair was quife a novelfy for mosf of us. Buf fhe sevenfh ferm saw fhe class really come info ifs own. Affer a very lively and fair elecfion, Dominick Annese, Vivian Simon, Regina Haas, Gerfrude Hofmann, and Peggy O'Brien were chosen as our Senior Class officers. Affer fheir inducfion fhey sef abouf preparing for our firsf Senior dance, which fook place on May 8, in 'rhe boys' large gym. The Senior ferm was fhe very essence of excifemenf and grafificafion. ln fhe field of sporfs we cheered fo 'l'he glorious vicfories of our foofball feam. Our social life, foo, broughf laughs and ioys fo be cherished forever. A Hallowe'en dance was held in fhe real pumpkin manner, wifh pranks and iokes pracfisecl by all on all. The week of Novem- ber 4fh wifnessed inflafed Senior chesfs land headsl walking fhrough Evander hallways. The cause, nafurally, was our Senior hafs . . . Quife a differenf afmosphere was nofed around fhe school af fhis fime wifh many Freshmen running for cover. December opened upon one of fhe maior evenfs in fhe hisfory of fhe class-Senior Week- during which was presenfed The Warrior's Husband, wifh Frances Keifel, Theresa Scafidi, Henry Gosch, Bernard Rosenfeld, Richard Birnberg, Emma Goldfarb, and Sam Rubensfein as fhe chief sfalwarfs of enferfainmenf. Our achievemenfs did nof cease here. The following day fhe Frolic Day dance was given in fhe Girls' large gym. lmmediafely following fhe mid-ferms fhe Prom was held af fhe Rifz Carlfon. Mac Pollack and his orchesfra supplied syncopafed rhyfhm for fhe formally garbed Seniors and Seniorifas. This gala evenf fifly climaxed fhe social calendar of fhe class of January I937. ln fhe wake of fhese brighf days we graduafe info fhe new beyond. A richer, and more mafure planf has been fhe ulfimafe resulf of fhis enfire day of confinual sunshine -a composife symbol represenfing four years of menfal and spirifual formafion in fhe Evander mold. The morrow will see fhe wake ofa new sun illuminafing new and fhrilling visfas. As Evander producfs, we are prepared!
