S. H. S. with an active year, On December 8, they held their first party at the home of Mrs, Roy Walker: plans are being made for a picnic later in the year, In February they presented their Dr. B. O. as- sembly program, Two of their mem- bers-Joann Donnell and Kieth David- son-Were elected queen and king of the P. T. A. Halloween Carnival in November. The class purchased mag- azine subscriptions for the library with proceeds.

oreworcl .7!L iffy l'Llfl7,8I The Forty Niner IS the theme we have chosen for Top O The H111 this year since 1949 is the hundredth anniversary of the Forty Niners headlong rush into California in search of gold We forty niners instead of gold are searching for a goal Some of us have set a goal in life and are striving to reach it on the other hand some of us are still looking for one Getting through school was quite a struggle but we made it, thanks to our parents and teachers. Some of us now look to higher education and others will go immediately into their life's long career. As we go out in life, each probably in a different direction, we all will take pleasure in getting out the old high school annual and recalling the great times we had at E. S. H. S. Such memories as these will prod us on to make us better citizens of our great country.
