Mr. C. S. Morris Mrs. R. Davis The E. J. H. S. Students are to be commended for the adjustment they made to a difficult learning situation. Although guests on another school campus they have developed strong attitudes of cheerfulness and helpfulness. They are meeting the challenge that has been given them with a determination to overcome all problems, and certainly there are many. They are taking advantage of every oppor- tunity to learn patience, consideration, understand- ing, responsibility, cooperation and that wonderful feeling of working with a fine understanding faculty for a common cause. To a principal, his greatest satis- faction is in seeing success in the work and activities of individuals, groups of students and teachers. It is a pleasure in working with all in the school. Each day has its bright spots-a new friend, the thrill of discovery in learning something new., or a play production, or a game. Our yearbook chronicles many such bright spots. Certainly on the day it is published, it ranks as the newest bright spot. Congratulations are in order, and thanks to its staff. Each day we see students and faculty in classrooms and on campus adding to the success of Eureka Junior High. You have had a good school year and I am pleased to say, Well done . C. S. Morris Mr. J. Wilcox Mr. Wilcox, the Eureka junior High Dean of Boys, has the important job of keeping the student conduct under control. Being Dean of Boys has made him a familiar person throughout our place of education. Because of the interest in the student body, he sees to it that the classroom participation and conduct is up to standard.

Members of the Eureka City School Board meet two times a month in the E. H. S. building to discuss the problems and progress of the Eureka City Schools. They have many things to worry about, especially this year. This year building two new junior highs will be their biggest job. Left to right are pictured g Mathew Santino, Orville Snyder, Orville Marcellus, Clayton Janssen, Mrs. Virginia Johnston, and Mr. J. Singer. uperintendent Mr. Jack R. Singer, Superinten- dent of Eureka City Schools , began his new job on July 1, 1963. His office is at 1915 J. Street and he applied for this job because of the challenge and recreation to be had here in Humboldt County. He also applied for this job in Hum boldt because of the challenge it gave him. The challenge is the new school buildings , fEureka Jr. High and Cutten Jr. Highj , and also controlling the double session to the convenience of teachers and the students. Also, he came to Humboldt County because of the outdoor recreation it has to offer. The hunting, fishing and camping out this area gives outdoor minded people is relaxing after a hard week in the office. Eureka Junior High Students are very happy they have such a devoted person to help along our new schools, just a little faster. 1 School Board 7
